1. Ferrari's Felipe Massa set his sights on a Turkish Grand Prix hat-trick after taking pole position for the third year in a row. The Brazilian, winner in 2006 and 2007 at the anti-clockwise Istanbul Park circuit, will have Heikki Kovalainen's McLaren alongside him on the front row on Sunday with the Finn coming back strongly from a heavy crash in Spain. McLaren's Lewis Hamilton was third quickest with Ferrari's world champion Kimi Raikkonen joining the 23-year-old Briton on the second row.
2. Avram Grant insists the only way to separate Chelsea and Manchester United would be a play-off to decide the Barclays Premier League title. The two clubs are level on points going into the final day of the season with Grant's Chelsea closing the gap in the last month but trailing on goal difference. United's freescoring style has given them the edge despite Grant targeting more attractive football since taking over from Jose Mourinho
3. Honda will try to help Japan's Takuma Sato and Briton Anthony Davidson after the demise of the Super Aguri Formula One team, according to Honda F1 chief executive Nick Fry. "It's something that we are thinking about at the moment. Obviously both drivers have done a super job over a number of years and if we can help, I'm sure we will," Fry said. "But there's nothing planned at the moment." Super Aguri were formed with Honda's backing at the end of 2005 after Sato was dropped by BAR Honda in favour of Brazilian Rubens Barrichello.
