1. Brazilian Felipe Massa set the pace for Formula One champions Ferrari, who dominated the first and second free practice at the Bahrain Grand Prix.. Second is his teammates, the World Champions, Kimi Raikkonen. The Ferrari rivals McLaren was take 3rd n 4th fastest.


2. McLaren's Formula One leader Lewis Hamilton crashed out of Bahrain Grand Prix free practice while Ferrari's Felipe Massa set the pace. Hamilton lost control of the car on the exit to turn seven in the middle sector of the slippery desert circuit and, with no grip, careered broadside into the tyre barriers with nine minutes of the second session remaining.

Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that Rio Ferdinand is close to agreeing a new contract at Manchester United.England defender Ferdinand, who captained his country in the friendly against France in Paris last month, is currently one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League after thrashing out a £100,000-a-week deal in 2005.

4. A round-up of who will be featuring in La Liga this weekend, with Getafe having to do without Cosmin Contra for their trip to the Nou Camp.
