"Manchester United came from behind to earn a 2-1 Premier League win over Arsenal at Old Trafford. Emmanuel Adebayor put the Gunners ahead early in the second half but a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty and Owen Hargreaves free-kick secured a vital win for United, who established a six-point lead over Chelsea at the top of the table. The defeat effectively ruled Arsene Wenger's side out of the title race, nine points off the lead with four games remaining.


Before that, Liverpool eased to a 3-1 win over Blackburn in the Premier League at Anfield thanks to goals by Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres and Andriy Voronin. All three strikes came in the second half and Torres's goal was his 30th in his debut season in England. Roque Santa Cruz scored late on for Rovers, who stay ninth after the defeat."
