News Update

1. A second-half Kanu goal meant Portsmouth qualified for their first post-war FA Cup final with a 1-0 win over Championship side West Brom at Wembley. It will be Pompey's fourth ever FA Cup final showing, having won the competition in 1939 and finished beaten finalists in 1929 and '34, although there will be a sour taste in the mouths of West Brom fans as Milan Baros handled in the box in the build-up to Kanu's winner.

2. Just three days after their European tie ended all square, both teams were back at the Emirates Stadium to do battle for league points. Arsenal were once again left frustrated by Liverpool as Saturday's 1-1 draw dealt a near fatal blow to their fading Premier League title hopes.

3. Barcelona's Brazilian forward Ronaldinho will be sidelined for about six weeks after he pulled a muscle in his right leg during a training session. The injury means the 28-year-old player, who has has been linked to a move away from the Catalan giants, will miss most of the remaining season.

4. Chelsea kept the pressure on leaders Manchester United at the top of the Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Manchester City at Eastlands. Richard Dunne's sixth-minute own-goal gave Chelsea the lead, with Salomon Kalou's well-crafted strike just after the break ensuring there would be no repeat of the Champions League implosion against Fenerbahce a few days earlier.
